The only Vietnamese village that received the title of “Best Tourist Village” in 2023
A ceremony was held on November 14 in Tân Hoa Municipality, Minh Hoa Mountain District, Quang Binh Province (Center) to receive the title of “Best Tourist Village” 2023 (Best Tourist Village in the World) awarded by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Tan Hoa is the only Vietnamese village among 260 candidate tourist villages from 60 participating countries, and was recognized by the UNWTO on October 19.
Nguyên Châu A, general manager of Oxalis, emphasized that local tourism is experiencing significant growth. Locals preserve their simplicity, jointly engage in tourism in accordance with the rules of sustainable development, preserving the landscape and traditional cultural identity of their native region.
Ho An Phong, vice chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, said Tan Hoa has many scenic spots, hardworking residents and peaceful villages. Tân Hoa is accelerating tourism development and is expected to achieve many encouraging results if it maintains its sustainable development orientation.
At the ceremony, provincial leaders presented certificates to organizations and individuals for their contribution to the construction and development of Tan Hoa as the world’s best tourist village in 2023.
The village of Tan Hoa is known as the “Seasonal Flood Area” of Quang Binh Province, where during the rainy season flood waters can submerge the entire village. Since 2011, when Tân Hoa village accepted tourism activities, many people got stable jobs and subsequently their quality of life improved significantly.
The village is located near Phong Nha – Ke Bàng National Park, boasting unique natural conditions and rustic charm. Surrounded by primary forests, limestone mountains and the tranquil Rao Nan River, Tân Hoa Village presents a simple and enduring beauty that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
