Both an environment for educational innovation and development, a network and a large community, Performa has ignited an educational flame in the professional lives of thousands of actors in the network of colleges. Since 1973, Performa has continued to innovate to make educational development accessible and flexible by offering a diverse range of training and support..

Around exciting exchanges and touching reunions, more than a hundred guests from the network of colleges and universities celebrated the 50the anniversary of Performa, which embodies the unique success of the partnership between higher education institutions in Quebec and the University of Sherbrooke.

We can be proud and consider ourselves privileged to be at the heart of college education and to have contributed to the development of Performa together.

Jules Bélanger, director of Performa

This colossal job comes to life in 63 higher education institutions across Quebec where local educational consultants work closely with their management and with Perform to offer their teams training in higher education pedagogy.

Over the past 50 years, more than 5,300 staff members have graduated from one of eight specialized programs offered in French and English. In addition, 430 research and innovation projects were carried out directly at higher education institutions by students of the master’s degree in higher education teaching at the higher education level.

Collaborate to meet the challenges of the college network together

Lack of manpower, adaptation to new technological tools, motivation and academic success… the challenges of the faculty network are numerous. Educational professional development powered by Performa enables faculty member staff to acquire the skills needed to cope with transformations in the faculty network.

From Television 2 AND Using WordPerfect 1974 until Gamification in the college classroom AND Contribute to a culture of kindness and well-being in the college environment In 2024, Performa offered hundreds of courses always in line with the field needs of higher education institutions. Held online and in person at colleges, these courses have transformed disciplinary experts from the faculty network into truly passionate educators.

It is my pleasure to participate in this event, which shows beyond any doubt that we at the university and the faculty of education are resolutely committed to the professional development of the faculty’s teaching staff, thanks to the unique partnership of Performa with the network.

A vibrant network that remains as relevant as ever

This partnership between member higher education institutions and the University of Sherbrooke is also based on the trust and commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education to Performa, since its inception. Over the past few years, several projects have emerged and steps are being taken to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

With now 63 member colleges, the strength and wealth of Performa continues to grow year after year. Today, even with the maturity of the university network, new faculties are still joining Performa, demonstrating the current importance of a single network.
