Da Nang is among the most popular destinations for Indian tourists

The central coastal city of Da Nang tops Skyscanner India’s list of the ten most sought-after destinations for Indian tourists, the municipal tourism department announced on November 9.

The latest Skyscanner India report showed that searches for Da Nang increased by 1,141%, double that of the number two destination, Kazakhstan’s Almaty.

The report found that Indian travelers preferred short-haul flights to destinations where they could relax on beaches. Among the most popular choices for Indian tourists is Da Nang, a city known for its crystal clear sea and pleasant temperatures.

Skyscanner also noted that Indian travelers consider food to be the biggest factor, at 71%. It is followed by weather with 65%, cultural experience with 65%, shopping with 49%, visiting historical sites with 45% and local cuisine with 38%.

Moreover, Da Nang is famous for its delicious fresh seafood and luxurious restaurants that serve different types of Indian-style halal dishes.

When it comes to shopping, Hàn and Côn markets are also the most popular destinations for Indian tourists.

According to the municipal tourism department, in the first nine months of 2023, Da Nang received more than 95,000 Indian tourists, accounting for almost half of the South Asian country’s total number of visitors to Vietnam.
